Michele Geiger-BronskyMichele is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who co-founded the Wellness Center in 2003. Her 35+ year nursing career has always focused on a partnership with patients in taking responsibility for their own health. She holds a particular interest in the empowerment of women across the lifespan. She performs colposcopies and is certified to insert Implanon, a progestin only hormonal method of contraception. She is an active member of the WI Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association. She is a member of the Gay, Lesbian Medical Association.
Her passion for reproductive health care remains a focal point in the services
provided at the Wellness Center. She completed Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training and developed the SANE program for Door County. She is the "mother" of 2 Scottish Terriers and the founder of the Door County Scottie Rally. Michele was named as a Champion of Women's Health in 2008 by the Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation. In addition to seeing patients Michele is administratively responsible for the Wellness Center.
Heidi Derbick Heidi is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner who completed her Master's in Nursing Science degree from Concordia University in Mequon, WI. She will complements the provision of primary health services that the Wellness Center offers and will see clients from 1 month to 70+ years of age. Heidi will be a full time and will continue to be a member of our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner team.
Although a native of Northern WI, Heidi shares her Sturgeon Bay home with her spouse and three children. Heidi summarizes her health care philosophy as follows: "My belief that patient care needs to be focused on the entire individual is the cornerstone of my practice. Providing competent and compassionate care is my personal commitment to my patients."
Katie SchnorrKatie Schnorr joins the staff of the Wellness Center as Director of Development. Her role encompasses fundraising, grant writing, volunteer cultivation and recognition, and creating/maintaining connections with individuals, businesses, and foundations in our community and beyond. A graduate of Brown University, with a Master’s Degree from National-Louis University, Katie has experience in the non-profit sector (City Year Chicago, Isadoora Theatre Company) and had a successful career as an educator for fifteen years. Katie is also an award-winning poet, a singer, and a contributing editor to Door County Living Magazine. Katie and her husband live on a farmstead in Southern Door County, where they are raising two spirited young daughters.
Jeanne KuhnsJeanne holds an Associate Degree in Nursing and complements the breadth of services provided at the Wellness Center. Her life experiences and a nursing career, which spans more than 25 years makes her a perfect fit for our health care team. She has completed training as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Jeanne is a year-round resident of Door County, an accomplished musician, songwriter, gifted artist and mother of three adult children. Her artwork can be found in our lobby, front office and at her studio, The Lost Moth Gallery in northern Sturgeon Bay.
Cindy LaCrosse Cindy is an excellent example of someone who pursued a dream and returned to school after years of raising a family and all that entails. She joined our staff in 2009 and completed her Associate Degree in Nursing at NWTC. She loves to teach and brings with her a great knowledge regarding nutritional and herbal supplements as the previous wellness area coordinator at a local Sturgeon Bay pharmacy. In addition to devoting countless hours of community volunteer time to the Kimberly House and other worthy causes, Cindy has been a frequent guest on local Door County radio, is the mother of two sons and is an expert seamstress and knitter. Cindy recently completed Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training and is in the process of continuing her education to receive a Reproductive Health Nurse certificate.
Elizabeth RamirezElizabeth serves the Wellness Center with a variety of skills. She brings a background as a certified nursing assistant. Her Latino heritage and fluency in Spanish makes her an essential team member and allows us to enhance services provided to the Hispanic population. Liz is active in her church, loves to cook Mexican food and is the mother of one daughter.
Kris Miller Kris has transitioned from being a volunteer to joining the Wellness Center team as the Coordinator for Community Outreach and Quality Improvement. One aspect of this role will involve her oversight and implementation of programs which will improve healthy birth outcomes for low income women. Kris received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin and has experience in both acute and long term care. She brings a wealth of experience in parent education which will influence the delivery and implementation of programs such as Prenatal Care Coordination, My Baby & Me and First Breath. Kris is the mother of two adult daughters and shares her Baileys Harbor home with her husband. They love to bike and hike and can’t get enough of the Door County music scene! Kris is a devoted volunteer for the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition and at Infinite Boundaries Retreats for breast cancer survivors.
Kathy Tellstrom As the Coordinator of the Young Adult Parent Support Program (YAPS), Kathy assists young parents with early bonding and parenting education to optimize their abilities to be successful. Kathy will also be a member of the team providing Prenatal Care Coordination services to eligible women in an effort to ensure their access to resources and healthy birth outcomes.
Kathy received and completed her training through Childbirth International as a Certified Childbirth Educator and Certified Doula. Additionally Kathy completed Perinatal Bereavement Counseling training through Perinatal Bereavement Services of Ontario, Canada. As a mother of six, Kathy brings a variety of personal experiences to this role and she exemplifies a passion for birth and parenting.
Stacia Dick-SchusterStacia originally hails from Manitowoc and holds the Wellness Center together on a day to day operating basis. She holds a Master's Degree in Art Therapy, is an accomplished artist who provides art therapy for persons of all ages, and is the mother of a charming young son! Her art has been on display at The Fairfield Gallery and continues to be on display at The Lost Moth Gallery.
Beckie CoyerBeckie is our behind the scenes assistant who is helping us do billing of client visits, posting of payments and entering our data that is required by the State for us to continue to receiving funding for Family Planning dollars. She is a mom of two with a huge warm smile and heart to match! She hopes to complete RN training some day.
Linda RuthLinda is our receptionist who you will most likely encounter at the front desk or on the phone---especially on Fridays! She comes to us with a vast experience in customer service and retail. Linda has quite an artistic side and is a mom to Buffy, her perky pup and a number of adult children.
Kimberly DenilKimberly is originally from Ashland, WI and is our Office Manager. She has come to the Wellness Center with several years of experience in medical billing, medical collections and managerial experience. In addition to working at the Wellness Center, Kimberly and her husband also run their own business. She is the mother of three, ranging from a son in the Air Force, a daughter in college and a son in middle school. As if that wasn't enough to keep her busy, she is becoming a favorite driver at the local racetrack where she races her hobby stock car.
Dr. Kim WinburnDr. Winburn serves as our Medical Director and is the primary provider that our nurse practitioners will consult with regarding OB/GYN issues. A graduate of the University of WI Medical School, Dr. Winburn completed her OB/GYN residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. She is board certified from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a relatively new mom who maintains a great sense of humor and enjoys sailing in her free time. She is on staff at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center and sees patients in Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay as well.
Lori BloomerLori Bloomer is the newest member of our welcoming patient services staff. She comes to us from Door County Memorial Hospital/Ministry Health Care with expertise in medical records and billing. Originally from Green Bay, Lori lives in the Little Sturgeon area with her husband, and has one grown son. She enjoys bowling, golfing, and cruising the water on her pontoon boat.
