In December, 2008 we purchased the property immediately north of our current location, with the goal of expanding our “cozy little clinic” into a larger, state-of-the-art, warm and welcoming facility. Phase one of the new clinic will be complete in June 2011 and we will take occupancy of the building. In July 2011, our existing clinic will be demolished and the footprint of the building will once more be expanded. By January 2012, the Wellness Center of Door County will be completed, and our clients and staff will enjoy a total of 8,800 square feet of space as we continue our work to provide compassionate care for women and men of all ages.
Our new facility will include five exam rooms, a dedicated room for minor procedures and sexual assault exams, confidential off-street parking and entrance, a conference room for group educational events, a larger and more comfortable reception/waiting area, and a drive-up window for prescription supplies. We will also have added space for alternative health services such as massage, and a multi-purpose room for fitness classes. Our clinic will provide office space for additional providers, and a lab, nurses station, and break room for our staff.
Our expansion has enabled us to continue to serve the thousands of patients who seek our services, as well as to expand our programming. New programs include Best Beginnings Pre-Natal Care Program for expectant mothers, the YAPS (Young Adult Parent Support) program, and free breast cancer screenings and early detection. We are also hiring additional Nurse Practitioners specializing in Primary Care.
We successfully began our Capital Campaign in 2009 to raise funds for our expansion. We invite you to help us reach our total campaign goal of $1,000,000 as we look to the bright future of the Wellness Center!
Our community supporters are our most important resources! Your generous donation will help us reach our Building Wellness Capital Campaign Goal. We are honored to serve the needs of our community and we ask you to please consider a gift today.
