Birth Control Methods
There are 2 methods of birth control----Hormonal and Non-hormonal. Regardless of which method you may choose it is important that you be well informed of the benefits, risks, alternatives, side effects, effectiveness and warning signs of serious health issues such as blood clots. The method that you choose ultimately needs to be a "good fit" for you. If at any point you are unhappy with the method you are using it is important that you return to your provider's office. Do not simply stop your method---or you'll be risking an unplanned pregnancy!
Non-Hormonal Methods of Birth Control
- Provide a barrier against sperm if used correctly and consistently
- Prevent interference with your natural hormonal cycle

Hormonal Methods of Birth Control
- Improve menstrual cycle (period)
- Regulate menstrual cycle so that it is regular & predictable
- Decrease the length of a menstrual cycle
- Decrease the monthly amount of blood loss
- Decrease the number of menstrual cycles per year
- Eliminate or reduce monthly cramping
