The Pink Classic: An Event to Prevent - Sunday, June 2nd, 2012
The 1st PINK CLASSIC: An Event to Prevent Golf Tournament held in June, 2007at Maxwelton Braes netted over $21,000 due to the generosity of 140 golfers, volunteers and many businesses through out the county. The 2nd Pink Classic held in June, 2008 netted over $15,000 and the 3rd Pink Classic in 2011 netted nearly $10,000!
One of the most unique outcomes of this event was the establishment of a dedicated fund, under the auspices of the Wellness Center of Door County, to assist uninsured and underinsured men and women an exam. The Sue Baldwin Fund was established in honor of the 10 year anniversary of Ms. Baldwin’s survival following the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
There is an application process for candidates to complete and collaboration with Door County Memorial Hospital, Aurora Health Care & Fox Valley Radiology Associates has resulted in potential discounted rates for services and fees to provide assistance to the greatest number of individuals needing these services.
